Sending Policy
The rules for using Instalent's multi-channel messaging responsibly. This policy is binding and forms part of the Terms of Service.
Last updated · July 18, 2026
This Sending Policy sets the rules and best practices for using Instalent's multi-channel messaging. It is binding and forms part of our Terms of Service. Our goal is responsible, compliant, and effective outreach that respects recipients, protects your connected accounts, and maintains the integrity of our platform.
1. Acceptable Use
You may use Instalent for:
- professional recruitment outreach;
- business-to-business sales prospecting;
- networking and partnership development;
- event invitations to relevant professionals;
- job-opportunity notifications; and
- content distribution to audiences who expect to hear from you.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Spam: unsolicited bulk or irrelevant messages.
- Deceptive content: misleading subject lines, false sender information, or phishing.
- Harassment: repeated unwanted contact after an opt-out.
- Illegal content: promoting illegal activities, scams, or fraud.
- Malware: malicious attachments or links.
- Infringement: distributing copyrighted or proprietary material without permission.
- Unlawful data use: collecting or using personal data without a lawful basis.
3. Lawful Basis, Consent, and Recipient Rights
You are responsible for ensuring your outreach is lawful. This means you must:
- have a valid lawful basis (such as consent or legitimate interests) for contacting each recipient, appropriate to the channel and the recipient's jurisdiction;
- comply with all applicable anti-spam and electronic-communications laws (such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR, ePrivacy rules, and any local opt-in requirements);
- identify yourself accurately and not use false or misleading sender information;
- include a clear and working way to opt out or unsubscribe, and honour those requests promptly; and
- maintain accurate routing and reply information.
Instalent does not provide consent for, or warrant the lawfulness of, the people you choose to contact — that responsibility is yours.
4. Account Safety and Sending Best Practices
You are solely responsible for maintaining safe sending practices and appropriate rate limits on every connected account. To protect your accounts and deliverability:
- Use pre-warmed, established accounts only — new or low-reputation accounts that send at high frequency are more likely to be restricted, suspended, or banned by the underlying platform.
- Start slowly with conservative, platform-appropriate delays and low daily volumes.
- Warm up gradually, increasing volume over weeks rather than ramping quickly.
- Respect each platform's limits, which are set by the underlying providers and are outside our control.
- Do not reuse accounts across automation tools — running the same account on Instalent and another tool concurrently significantly raises the risk of restriction or banning.
- Monitor engagement (open, reply, bounce, and complaint rates) and adjust accordingly.
- Prioritise quality over quantity — targeted, personalised outreach over mass blasting.
Important: maintaining proper rate limits, warm-up, and safety measures on each connected account is your responsibility. Instalent is not responsible for any restriction, suspension, or ban imposed on a connected account by the underlying platform.
5. Content Guidelines
All messages sent through Instalent must be truthful and not misleading, clearly identify you as the sender, include a clear opt-out, be relevant to the recipient's professional interests, comply with applicable law, and maintain a professional tone.
6. Platform-Specific Compliance
When sending through any connected platform, you must comply with that platform's user agreement, community and automation policies, and rate limits; only contact people you have a genuine, relevant reason to contact; personalise your connection requests and messages; and refrain from scraping or exporting data beyond what the platform allows.
7. List Management
You are responsible for maintaining clean, up-to-date contact lists; removing bounced or invalid addresses; honouring suppression and do-not-contact requests; segmenting appropriately; and managing consent and permissions.
8. Monitoring and Enforcement
Instalent may monitor account activity for compliance, investigate complaints, suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, report illegal activity to authorities, and cooperate with providers on abuse reports. Enforcement follows our Anti-Abuse Protection policy.
9. Consequences of Violations
Violations may result in a warning and mandatory review, temporary suspension, permanent termination without refund, or legal action for damages or regulatory violations.
10. Reporting Abuse
If you receive spam or abusive messages from an Instalent user, report it to jon@instalent.io with full message headers and details. We investigate all reports promptly.
11. Updates
We may update this Sending Policy periodically. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
